Buying Tips: Look for the use of waxed paper bags on each inflorescence and the paper wrapper on each bunch. This will give ample protection from handling injury and desiccation. Avoid stems with the appearance of brown lesions on the flowers and bracts, stems that are black or slimy in lower portion.

Processing: Unpack immediately and recut stems. Use one of Floralife's hydration products (Hydraflor^® 100 or Floralife^® Quick Dip) to promote solution uptake and hydration. This treatment will help decrease flower wilting and also helps keep flower stems free flowing. Using one of Floralife^®’s hydration pretreatments can help prevent dehydration of bird-of-paradise flowers.
